200.000 s for getting trained, going up to 110 km and "post-landing frivolity". All possible in 2009.

I'm saving up..

This is exciting. We certainely are entering a brave new world of possibility both for business owners and consumers with this space tourism thing.

I don't understand how people can say it is a waste of money. It is launching us into the future!

I don't think it's a waste of money.. Other things are even bigger wastes of money.
The only thing I'm concerned about is if it will have an environmental impact.

Bullshit. Every new venture is expensive when it first gets started. If it progresses smoothly, in a century it may not be rare for a working-class family to vacation out to a space station. In fact, that sounds very likely to me.

You socialists just can't breathe without trying to act like someone is oppressing you. Go eat your kebabs and allow private ventures to help better the human race.

It probably won't be that big considering the relatively small number of launches.. Which will probably be kept down by the high price.

On the other hand, who would have imagined the current extend of air traffic in the 30's (or whenever it became a commercial opportunity)

It'll become much cheaper in the future, when it becomes more and more common.

It is advancing our progress into the future. If the world was controlled by your brand of socialism before the industrial revolution we'd still be pulled around by ox-drawn carts because the thought of scientific innovation would horrify you while some african somewhere in the world was starving. Face it: there will ALWAYS be suffering. You can't let it keep you from progress.
