Could it be that Jesus had taken this psychoactive? He was given a cloth soaked in vinegar in the cross. So he could've possibly gone to a coma then, gotten buried, then waking up in the grave, thinking he was back from the dead.
Nobody survives the cross. It was fucking brutal.
But there are theories that the one who died on the cross wasn't Yeshua ben Yusuf, or Jesus son of Joseph, if you like, but a stand-in.
What evidence supports this? And remember that plenty of people were crucified every day back then.
Well, first of all the Qur'an mentions that Jesus hid behind a brick wall and watched while the stand-in was crucified in his place, if I remember correctly. Also, I think the Qur'an mentions that Jesus died somewhere in Asia (the Wikipedia article on Islam mentions that the Ahmadis believe that he died in Kashmir as an old man). More about the Islamic view of the death of Jesus and the substitution theory:

The Ahmadis believe that Jesus was crucified, but that he was revived from a swoon at the cross, and that he later travelled to India to search for the lost tribes of Israel, and that his tomb is to be found in Kashmir, under the na,me Yuz Asaf:
