for any country? im thinking about joining out of high school, and having them pay for my college.
is anyone here in the military (any branch) or have been and are now retired?

It is, but if we attack Iran and it develops into a wider regional conflict, there won't be many choices left.

Fortunately Sweden's draft is so pathetic that only about 10-20 % of the drafted actually are forced to join, so only those who want to join the army has to. I didn't want to, so I didn't have to.

If it was a case of us being invaded I'd definitely join up, otherwise I cant stand the concept of an army. Just look at the army in Nepal shooting protestors, IMO the vast majority of people who join the army are those who get a kick out of pushing people around.
