Budhism is by far my favorite religion,
out of all the major ones, it has yielded the fewest number of murderous radicals
and they have cool temples

If there is one religion I would join, it would be Buddhism. I wouldn't even say I would really call it a "religion." There's no "well you have to do this or follow this to be accepted, etc etc." Buddhism is all about respect and discipline, peace and so forth. Buddhism is actually quite interesting.

The only deaths I hear about in Buddhism is Buddhists actually killing themselves for what they believe in. But there's not wars and pointless slaughtering of people like there is in other religions.

You are, of course, quite right. In fact I would call Buddhism more a philosophy than a religion if it weren't for the fact that Buddhists aim for 'Nirvana', the condition of becoming one with 'the whole' after death, which is religion-related I think.

Buddhist-based meditation has done me a lot of good. Focusing on the breath, quieting the mind etc. It is all very practical and has an immediate effect on your life, and that cannot be said of other religions as far as I know.

I do that as well as a part of the martial art style I'm practicing Kuniba-Ha Shito Ryu. Deep breathing helps calm you a lot, and we practice that along with stretches before starting. We also take a deep inhale and exhale before starting every kata.

Oh and here's a cool quote by Budda: "Believe in nothing, no matter where you read it or who has said it, not even if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense." - Buddha

A quote like that automatically makes Buddhims cool.

buddhism is a truly great religion because it does not dictate or preach, it merely encourages. most of the other major religions preach submission to the will of God, but buddhism teaches us that we need to look inwards and not up at the sky.

Buddhism CAN be a great kind of alternative psychology for quieting the mind. Unfortunately, it attracts numerous pseudo-intellectuals to it.

Actually...
There are Buddhist terrorists in Sri Lanka, that's why "fewest" sadly fits better than "none at all"

That's sad, sad that people turn something good into something bad, I guess everything has to have it's extremenists.

In a way, you could say the same thing about just about any religion. The fundamentals upon which Christianity are based pretty much match what most people would consider moral - respecting other people's property, not killing, and so on.
